CHILD PORTRAITS FROM SHOOT TO EDIT with Jo de Banzie and Marko Nurminen
April 2nd, 2012, £350 plus VAT
To be held at the Westbourne Studios in London’s Notting Hill, this urban children’s portraiture workshop will take you from shoot to edit.
Limited to 6 delegates in order to provide individual attention, this full day is packed with invaluable information from the two tutors. Jo de Banzie and Marko Nurminen are both busy working professionals in their own specialist fields, so you can be sure of relevant and targeted instruction.
The morning will start with an introduction to child portraiture with Jo, where she’ll take you through the process she uses to ensure beautiful images and a healthy sale. These include client dynamics, working with available light, clothing, location choices and the planning necessary to pull everything together into a successful session. She’ll then lead you on a practical location shooting session with child models.
The afternoon will be spent in post production with Marko. Using your own files shot during the morning session, he will show how they can be enhanced and polished to stunning effect quickly and easily in Lightroom and Photoshop. This is not purely a software tutorial. The focus will be on understanding what makes a successful photograph; taking the raw ingredients and breathing life into the final image.
At the end of the workshop Jo and Marko will provide some helpful feedback on the images created that day.
This workshop is ideal for competent amateurs and new pros wishing to gain confidence and improve their skills in children’s portraiture. The emphasis will be on managing both the shoot and subsequent post production in order to create a coherent and irresistible set of images for your client.
Kit list: You will need a Canon or Nikon DSLR camera and 1 or 2 professional lenses. Ideally a wide angle and long zoom lens, although a good portrait lens (85 to 150 mm) would be fine. No flash or tripods necessary.
